Hi, I'm Taylor — founder of TAS Literacy.
I became a reading specialist because I saw, year after year in the classroom, what happens when kids fall behind in reading: they don't just struggle academically — they start to believe something is wrong with them. That belief is what I'm most committed to changing.

I'm a New York City–based certified Reading Specialist and Special Education teacher with over 10 years of classroom experience in grades K–8. I hold a Bachelor's degree in General Education and a Master's degree in Special Education from the University of Florida, with endorsements in teaching reading and certification in the Orton-Gillingham approach. In 2020, I earned my Reading Specialist certification, and I'm currently completing my Level 2 Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist certification through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI) — the field's gold standard for structured literacy practice.

Since launching TAS Literacy, I've dedicated over 5,000 hours to working 1:1 with students, providing individualized, multi-sensory instruction rooted in the Science of Reading.
I specialize in:
-
Foundational phonics and decoding (Orton-Gillingham approach)
-
Reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
-
Academic writing and essay development
-
Executive functioning skills (organization, task management, study strategies)
-
Support for students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other learning differences
Every student I work with begins with a comprehensive diagnostic assessment so that instruction is tailored to their specific strengths and needs — not a generic program.

My goal isn't just to help kids read better. It's to help them feel capable, confident, and excited about learning.
