Heart Words 1-100 Booklet, List, and Word Cards (Aligns with UFLI Curriculum)
This Heart Words Resource includes 161 pages of activities: two booklets, blank word cards, labeled word cards to assist with the orthographic mapping process, and a list of the 100 heart words in sequential order matching the UFLI curriculum.
Booklet 1: Contains heart words 1-50 in sequential order. Each page assists with the orthographic mapping process and includes activities to count the sounds, trace the word, label the sounds using a code, write the word, and use the word in a sentence.
Booklet 2: Contains heart words 51-100 in sequential order. Each page assists with the orthographic mapping process and includes activities to count the sounds, trace the word, label the sounds using a code, write the word, and use the word in a sentence.
Blank Word Cards: Blank word cards of heart words 1-100 are included to use on word walls, bulletin boards, small groups, centers, etc. These cards are blank to allow for labeling the words using the orthographic mapping process with students.
Labeled Word Cards: Labeled Heart Words 1-100 include the symbols of squares and hearts below the words to show the irregular and regular letter-sound combinations. All cards align the labeling in the UFLI curriculum. These cards can also be used on word walls, bulletin boards, small groups, centers, etc.
The labeled cards use green squares and red hearts.
Green= go to symbolize regular letter sounds
Red = stop to symbolize irregular letter sounds
